Sophie Orde is an artist based in London. She studied in Art Students League in New York, Pietrasanta Carving School in Italy and Heatherleys in London. She is inspired by age of the stone she works with, which is between 100-140 million years old and the play of texture and light on the forms she create. The forms unfold as she carves into them, revealing themselves as the work evolves.
