Robert was born in North Devon. After initial art training in Cheltenham he graduated with a degree. from Bristol University. A former Chair of Trustees for the South West Academy of Fine & Applied Arts, Robert has received an Arts Council Award for Painting; been short-listed for the Lynn Painter Stainer Award, and in 2002 was the recipient of the Prize for most outstanding work in a water-based medium at the RWA.
