Winter Sunset, Hanger Down

After studying for a degree in Fine Art at Exeter College of Art Rob has made Devon his home and work place for over 40 years. Much of his work is created in his studio; although all start from sketches, studies and photographs made on location. He is equally happy working in oils or watercolour. Painting in whichever medium he believes is most appropriate for the artwork in question. Beaches and shadowed cliffside’s are recurring themes in his work and the coastline around Mothecombe in South Devon has long been an area rich in subject matter. He has written for The Artist and Illustrators magazine, written and contributed to books on painting and has written for the BAFTA winning TV series ‘Shaun the Sheep’.
