Bumble Bee Lift Off

I am a self-taught watercolour artist living in rural mid Devon. I have been painting with watercolours for over twenty years. I love the fluidity of watercolour and its ability to capture the immediacy of a subject...I feel, like many of the creatures I like to paint, watercolour can never truly be tamed. I like to paint some parts of the painting with detail and then get much looser in other areas, leaving some work for the viewer to do. I have been shortlisted for the David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year on six occasions as well as the Royal Institute for Painters in Watercolour Open Exhibition, and I completed a large commission for Michael Caines Hotel, Lympstone Manor, concentrating on the birds of the Exe estuary .
