Balancing Act

I am a painter, printmaker and art therapist working primarily in abstract form and using a variety of media. Ideas evolve from walking in the landscape and centre on man- made objects within the landscape such as field shapes, footpaths, ancient sites, layering of the earth and ‘found objects’ within the ground. Scraped off layers of paint reveal earlier surfaces, while repeated shapes hint at a hidden symbolism. When I start a painting I never know where it will go… for me, the joy is in ‘not knowing’ , taking risks and being open to all that might occur.
